Tony Magee is an event producer, music and
theatrical agent and entrepreneur based in Canberra Australia.
His company, Tony Magee Creative
Events, traces its roots back to 1982, as
part of the production team for the Australian launch of Sony’s then new and
revolutionary Compact Disc system at Kent HiFi Canberra for owner Rudi Langeveld. Our client was
CSIRONET, followed later by the general public. Since that time,
his company
has grown with a dedicated and talented event staff, as well as
an artistic
database of over 1500 performers, both national and
international.
Tony and the
team are now firmly established as a leading event production company in
Australia, holding
government and corporate contracts, particularly focusing on conference
event production, which sees him in all capital cities and regional
centres around
Australia, as well as involvement in events
in
Beijing, Hong Kong and most recently
Kuala Lumpur
. Tony’s selection process for quality
entertainers and key note speakers for the conference arena has earned him
a reputation for honesty and integrity, combined with fairness, in the
entertainment world.
Tony Magee is
also one of
Australia’s
most outstanding cabaret pianists and is sought after as accompanist to
many of the leading cabaret artists in
Australia
.
He has played for Toni Lamond, Geraldine Turner, Su Cruikshank, Bronwyn
Sullivan, Kate Peters, Luke Barron, Janie Lawson, Stephen Pike, Ian
Croker, Phil Simmons, Ra Khahn, Andrew Bisset, Elaine Harris, violinist
Wilfrid Jones and a host of others. He has shared the stage as singer and
pianist with Shirley MacLaine and Dionne Warwick and was also musical
director and manager for the late Miss Gery Scott.
Tony is a former board member and
President of the Capital Arts Patrons Organization and currently serves on
the board of the Canberra Cancerians. He
is also a
long time member of the Canberra Convention
Bureau.
