Based in Canberra, Wiradjuri
Echo are one of the leading indigenous performance troupes,
showcasing traditional and modern dances and culture and
teaching about Aboriginal artefacts and tribal
markings.
Led by Duncan Smith,
Wiradjuri Echo have performed at numerous conferences
and events at venues including Parliament House, the National
Convention Centre, National Museum of Australia and ANU as well
as at many ACT and NSW schools.
Also a talented visual
artist, Duncan started painting with his mother, and has
painted many beautiful murals at locations within
Queanbeyan and the ACT. He was named Aboriginal and Torres Strait
Island Artist of the Year in 2003. |
Duncan Smith is
also a highly talented painter.
